This tour is characterised by the diversity of sites and activities at relatively low difficulty level. This 10-day itinerary is filled with the spirit of adventures and real Russian experiences.

The first part of the tour we will spend living on the boat, fishing and exploring Baikal's biggest island - the legendary Isle of Olkhon. It contains more then 140 unique archeological sites and is one of the world's five poles of shamanistic energy. You might even meet a local shaman here. We will then sail to the southern part of the lake visiting many natural and historical sites of interest including beautiful bays, historic villages and the inspiring Circum Baikal Railroad. At last but not least we will be transferred to the mountain ranges south west of the lake. Tunka valley one of the least populated and one of the more interesting places in Russia and Arshan settlement has numerous sites of interest.

On this tour you will enjoy a truly ultimate eastern Siberian experience.



DAY 1

Transfer by minivan from Irkutsk to MRS (4 hrs) - a picturesque straight between mainland and Olkhon. Rest and free time. Choice of evening excursions. First night aboard.

DAY 2

Sail to Olkhon. Sacral shamanistic places tour. Visit the northern highest observation point of the Island - the peak of Hoboy. Overnight on the boat

DAY 3

Full day exploring the island including excursions to some smaller uninhabited islands. Fishing and bathing. Overnight aboard.

DAY 4

Sail back to MRS. Day of excursion. Baikal cooking workshop in the evening. Overnight on the boat.

DAY 5

Sail to Sennaya Bay. See hidden prehistoric rock carvings. Two-hour trek along the picturesque shore among the stilt-like trees on route to Peschannaya Bay. Very traditional Siberian banya and lake dipping. Overnight on the boat.


DAY 6

Sail to Listvyanka, village at the start of Angara river. Visit local fish market and 3-hour trek to Chersky Peak, breathtaking observation point. Traditional Russian dinner and banya. Overnight in a wooden guest house.

DAY 7

Exploring the village and meeting its hospitable people. Hunt for Baikal souvenirs. Visit Taltsy museum of wooden architecture. Overnight in a guest-house.

DAY 8

Ferry boat transfer to opposite bank of Angara river. Half a day of history and legends of the Trans-Siberian railway and an exiting walking excursions to the tunnels and bridges of the Circum Baikal Railroad. Transfer by van (3 hrs) to Arshan village in the breathtaking Tunka Valley. Accommodation in hotel.

DAY 9

Whole day of walking and sightseeing excursions in Arshan surroundings with exiting mountain views, rivers and waterfalls. Excursion to the Buddhist Temples. Traditional local dinner in a restaurant. Night in a hotel

DAY 10

Transfer to Irkutsk. (4 hrs).
