This fascinating trip takes you to the 'Living Eden' in the southern part of Kamchatka Peninsular. Over 10 days you will cruise the azure waters of the Pacific Ocean, venture through the giant grasses and taiga forest full of berries and mushrooms, intrepidly cross river rapids and of course explore the amazingly powerful active volcanoes. First a high-speed boat will take us through Avacha bay into the open Pacific to Zhirovaya bay, the starting point for the 3-day trekking to the Vilyuchinskiye thermal springs area. During the sailing you will have a chance to watch noisy colonies of birds and possibly spot orcas, dolphins or seals. The trek itself is very interesting, and is surely highlighted by the magnificent panorama of Zhirovaya bay and the endless expanse of the Pacific Ocean as well as the Zhirovaya river valley and the hot springs area at the slopes of the Mutnovsky and Viluchinsky volcanoes. After trekking you will make ascent by truck mostly to reach the craters of Mutnovsky and Gorely active volcanoes. Being inside Mutnovsky's crater is like standing in the middle of the 'devil's kitchen'. There is strong fumarole activity and even in the calm period the volcano excretes large amount of energy in the form of gases, sulfur outcrops and numerous powerful thermal springs, boiling water and mud pots. Ascending Gorely's crater we will see how rich vegetation is changing to volcanic fields with giant boulders and solidified lava. There are fresh lava streams up to 15 km long for your amazement and a photo of a lifetime. Just to top off the adventure we will visit Dachniye springs, which second name "the mini Valley of Geysers" speaks for itself.

DAY 1

Transfer to Petropavlovsk. City tour with a museum visit. City hotel overnight accommodation.

DAY 2

Transfer to the boat terminal and sail the waters of Pacific Ocean to Zhirovaya bay. Overnight in tents.

DAY 3

Start trekking towards Viluchinskiye hot springs. Set up a tented camp near a small fish breeding plant. Bathe in Zhirovyskiye thermal springs.

DAY 4

Continue trekking. Go over a 700m pass. Walk through giant grasses and rocky paths. Breathtaking views on the ocean and volcanoes. Overnight in tents.

DAY 5

Relatively short hike to Viluchinskiye hot springs among giant grasses and birch forest. Enjoy bathing in springs. Set up camp near in the sport club territory. Overnight in tents.

DAY 6

Half day resting at the thermal springs. Exiting excursion to a desolated gold mine. Drive 6WD truck to the Gorely volcano caldera. Watch fresh lava streams up to 15 km long. Set up base camp at the foot of Mutnovsky volcano. Night in tents.

DAY 7

Drive 6WD truck up the volcano as far as possible. Walking excursion to the crater of active Mutnovsky volcano (2323 m). See strong fumarole activity inside, geysers, boiling rivers and bubbling mud pots. Overnight in tents at the base camp.

DAY 8

Drive to the foot of Gorely volcano (1829 m). Start an ascending of one of its four active craters. Walk around the crater observing glorious views of surrounding volcanoes. Descend by truck. Overnight in tents.

DAY 9

Pack the base camp. Drive towards Petropavlovsk (4 hrs). Visit phenomenal Dachnye Springs - 'mini Valley of Geysers'. Farewell dinner in a city restaurant in the evening. Accommodation in the hotel.

DAY 10

Visit the souvenir and sea food market in the morning. Transfer to the airport for your departure home
