Le Royal Meridien National
Listed in the "Leading Hotels of the World", the 'National is another part of Mamantov's grand project. Built in 1903 in an eclectic style with modern elements, its chandeliers and frescoed ceilings survived the revolution, and after recent careful renovation it is now one of the finest hotels in the country. This is assisted by its fine location at the foot of Tverskaya Street, its splendid view of the Kremlin and Manege Square, the magnificent Moskovsky restaurant and great service throughout. However, its main treasure is inside of the old wing, where museum-like rooms feature unique painted ceilings and so much state-of-art furniture that the hotel publishes its own guide to the antiques.
