Even before the 18th century Russian musical achievements had reached world-wide fame and recognition. However it was during 19th and 20th century that Russian composers such as Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Chaliapin, Rachmaninov and Prokofiev triumphed on the world music stage.
On the first day our enthusiastic guide will take you on a tour around Glinka Museum of Musical Culture which contains over 3000 instruments from all over the world spanning many centuries of musical development. You will also get a chance to learn about the remarkable life of Fyodor Chaliapin, Russia's greatest bass opera singer visiting his house-museum. Then put on your dinner dress and depending on the date enjoy a classical concert in either the Great Hall of Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the modern House of Music or one of the famous ballet performances.
Day two sees a half-day trip to Klin, hometown of Tchaikovsky and his masterpieces including 'Pathetique Symphony', 'Nutcracker' and 'Sleeping Beauty'.
