The National Pushkin Museum in St. Petersburg - one of the oldest literary museums in Russia and the first and the largest National museum dedicated to the poet Alexander Pushkin, founded in 1879.
Pushkin is the most famous poet in Russia and considered so for his wonderfully beautiful poems renowned for the purity of the Russian language and the unexampled grace of his rhythms. When you say "Pushkin" you'll immediately think of "Onegin", famous gun duels between nobles, stories of love and revenge, the emperor's court and literal parties.
The National Pushkin Museum is the center for collecting, research and promotion of materials that tell about life and creative work of the great poet. Pushkin is not only a poet in Russia - he is the whole era in Russian history.
