DAY 1

  • Excursion to the Alexander-Nevsky Abbey (Lavra) - to the necropolis of Masters of Arts. This abbey is one of the best monuments of the city and a unique architectural ensemble of 18-19 cc. It was used for the burial of the court nobility, members of the Imperial Family, prominent state, military, clerical and art figures - writers, composers.

  • Excursion to the Saint-Nicolas Cathedral - you will see one of the most beautiful churches of Saint-Petersburg and you will be told about ancient Russian church music and musical traditions.

  • In the evening we offer you to visit the Folk Show in the Nikolaevsky palace. The concerts are given by different dance companies heir dancing repertoire comprises lyrical dances of the Russian North, stirring dances of the Cossacks from the Don and Voronezh, dancing miniatures of the Urals and Siberia with their subtle humor. Besides the accordion and balalaika which are traditional for Russia, some rare and even exotic musical instruments are used by this group. You will be astonished to hear lyrical or stirring tunes performed by means of objects which are never known to be used for music-making.
DAY 2

  • Visit to the memorial flats of Shalyapin and Rimsky-Korsakov.

  • Excursion to the museum of musical instruments.

  • In the evening we offer you to visit a ballet in the Hermitage Theatre - Theatrical performances at the court of the Russian emperors became traditional since the 18th century and accompanied many festive occasions. In the south-western part of the Winter Palace an "Opera House" was built specially to give the performances for the court. With the foundation of the Hermitage Theatre the idea of creating Russian stage was put into life. The repertoire of almost all European theatres was performed on the stage of the Hermitage Theatre.
DAY 3

  • Excursion to the Mariinsky Theatre - You will be told about the history of Russian opera and ballet schools. Wonderful interiors of this theatre will astonish you.
    The history of the Mariinsky Ballet Company dates from 1783. It was named the Mariinsky Theatre after Alexander II's wife Maria. During the excursion you will see the theater's magnificent decor has survived almost unchanged to the present day. Dazzling white sculptures, lustrous gilt and light blue draping and upholstery all combined to create the beautiful and unusual color scheme of the Mariinsky auditorium. (The excursion to Mariinsky Theater is available only for the group more than 10 persons, for less group the excursion will be changed to other 3-hours excursion to your choice, for example, visit to Yusupov Palace, private theater, where the famous Russian musicians performed)

  • In the evening we offer to visit one of the ballets or operas in the famous, considered as the best Mariinsky Theatre. The Mariinsky Ballet Company is closely linked with the entire history of the development of Russian choreographic art which began more than two and a half centuries ago. You will enjoy the music and the mastery of our ballet dancers
